Recovery Room
Decompression, the honest version.
Not "10 tips for self-care." What people actually do after a shift that took something out of them — the drive home the long way, the shower, the friend who gets a text at 4am, the year it took to go back to nights.
The rule this room runs on
Recovery Room is the emotional center of Status Post and, for exactly the same reason, the densest concentration of health information anyone will write here. People disclose depression, anxiety, substance-use recovery, injuries, fertility treatment — about themselves.
Nothing reads this room to decide what to show you
No ranking, no recommendations, no "people like you also read." A system that learned from what you post here would be inferring health data about you, and we do not build one. The room exists; the machine that watches it does not. See the Consumer Health Data Policy.
Posting safely
Posts here are pseudonymous, and each one carries a name belonging to that conversation alone — not a handle that follows you between them. A post stays where you put it unless you mark it shareable, which is off unless you choose it; only then can anyone, you included, put it on a page. Putting it there is not a claim of authorship, and claiming one is a separate, deliberate act. The composer opens in the Safe Story template — a structure that keeps a story tellable without identifying a patient, a coworker or a date. The community guidelines explain what it asks you to leave out and why.
If you are in crisis, this is not the right room. In the US, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. It is free, confidential, and open all night — which is when you are reading this.
