Terms of Use
The agreement covering membership in the Status Post network. Marketplace selling and buying have their own terms.
Draft — not yet reviewed by counsel. The section structure below is fixed and the commitments in it are real, but the operative language is not final. Nothing here is in force until the network opens and a dated version replaces this page.
1. Who may join
People aged 18 or over who work for a healthcare provider organisation in the United States, verified by one of the methods on how verification works. Employers, agencies, recruiters and vendors may not hold accounts.
2. What you post
You keep ownership of what you write. You give us the licence needed to display it on the service and nothing broader — no sublicensing to third parties, no use in advertising, no training of models on your posts.
3. What you may not do
The community guidelines are part of these terms. The prohibitions there — patient-identifying information, harassment, unmasking, recruiting — are contractual, not advisory.
4. Pseudonymity
Your stories and your page are separate. Each story carries a name belonging to one conversation, derived by a key on your device, and nothing joins those names to each other or to your page unless you claim a story yourself. Attempting to identify another member, or to build a service that does — including correlating pseudonyms across threads — is a breach of these terms and, where we can attribute it to an account, ends your membership. We will not pretend to more than that: the same design that stops us linking your stories also limits what we can detect. The prohibition stands on its own, and it is the kind of breach that usually surfaces because somebody publishes the result.
5. Verification and invites
Invites are capped and revocable, and we record who invited whom. Vouching for someone makes you accountable for how that account was obtained — a fraudulent verification, or an account that should never have been vouched for, reaches the person who vouched.
It does not reach their pseudonymous posts, and we will not imply otherwise. Nothing connects a story in Recovery, Huddle or Consult to an account, so nothing connects it to an invite either. Invite accountability governs entry and conduct on the surfaces where a member writes as themselves.
6. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or remove an account for breach of these terms where the breach can be attributed to it — conduct on your page, in Off Duty, on a marketplace listing, on a story you have claimed, or in how you verified. A breach that appears only in a pseudonymous room is met by removing the content, because there is no account we can connect it to. How moderation works sets this out in full. You may delete yours at any time — what that removes is set out in what we store.
7. No professional advice, no employer relationship
Nothing on Status Post is medical, legal, or employment advice, and Status Post is not your employer, your union, or your licensing board. Status Post is not a HIPAA covered entity.
8. Disclaimers and liability
Standard limitations, to be finalised with counsel.
9. Changes
Material changes are announced before they take effect, with the date. A change that widens what we collect is announced in advance without exception.
