Report non-consensual intimate imagery
If an intimate image of you has been posted without your consent, tell us and we will remove it within 48 hours. You do not need an account to file this report.
Where this stands today. Status Post has not opened, so there is no member content here to report. The address and the 48-hour commitment are live anyway: a route like this has to exist before the content does, not after, and it is linked from the footer of every page for that reason.
How to report, right now
Email joel@statuspostcollective.com with the subject line NCII report — urgent. Include the link to the content, or enough detail to find it, and a statement that you are the person depicted and did not consent to it being posted.
Do not attach the image. We do not need a copy to act, and we do not want one.
What happens next
- We acknowledge the report.
- We remove the content, and any copies we can find, within 48 hours of a valid request, as the TAKE IT DOWN Act requires.
- Where the post was made from a page identity — a page, an Off Duty post, a marketplace listing — we act against that account as well.
- We tell you what we did, including which of the above we were able to do.
What we cannot do, said plainly. A post written in Recovery, Huddle or Consult carries a name belonging to that one conversation, derived by a key on the author's own device. We cannot work out whose it is, so there is no account for us to act against. That is not a gap we are working on — it is the design, and it is the same property that means nobody can ask us who wrote your story either.
The removal is unaffected. Taking content down never required knowing who posted it, so the 48-hour clock holds whatever room the image was posted in.
Reporting on someone else's behalf
An authorised representative can file for the person depicted. Say in the email what your authority is.
Other things to report
Harassment, threats, patient-identifying posts, or an attempt to unmask a member's pseudonymous account: same address, without the urgent subject line. The community guidelines cover what we act on, and how moderation works sets out what acting on it can and cannot reach.
If you are in immediate danger
Contact local emergency services. In the US, the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative operates a crisis helpline for image-based abuse.
